Kua Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Kua ("Kua AI") is Kuabo's artificial intelligence assistant, an app for people who leave, arrive or travel abroad. Kua is published by Kuabo's founder, based in Maryland, USA. This policy explains what data the Kua app uses, why, and what you can do about it. It complements Kuabo's privacy policy.
The principle: Kua keeps the minimum, never sells your data, and nothing about you is kept without your "Yes".
2. The data Kua uses
Your account: your email address (sign-in by code, no password) and your first name.
Your Kua profile: country of origin, the country and city where you live, your situation (studies, work, travel…), the stage of your plans, and your preferences (Kua's tone, language).
Your conversations: what you write to Kua and its answers, encrypted on our servers. In a private conversation, nothing is kept. Conversations on a sensitive topic (asylum, health, papers, violence) are not kept either.
What Kua knows (memories), your reminders, your price alerts and the flights Kua watches: only after your "Yes", encrypted when they contain text.
Your location: only when you tap "My location, once". It is rounded to about 100 meters, used for that one question, and never kept. My places (home, work, school) are kept only if you ask, rounded and encrypted.
Photos (a letter, a menu, a suspicious message): sent once to be read, never kept, without their metadata (no photo location).
Voice: when you tap the microphone, your iPhone (or Apple) turns your voice into text. Kua only receives the text, never the recording. Reading aloud happens on your iPhone.
Your device: a device identifier and a notification token, to send you your reminders and alerts.
Your Kuabo trips: only if you allow it in Me, Kua reads the destination, dates, airport and city of your Kuabo trips.
Usage: the number of messages, searches and photos this week (your plan's limits), and a security log of important actions, without the content of your messages.
Kua never reads your calendar (it only opens Apple's window when you add an appointment), your contacts or your health data. Face ID stays on your iPhone.
3. Why we use it
To make Kua work: answer, remind you of what you asked, find places, track flights and prices, send you the notifications you chose.
To apply your plan's limits, protect the service against fraud and abuse, and understand, in overall numbers, which features are used.
We run no ads, no cross-app tracking, and we never sell your data.
4. Who receives what
Only the services needed, for the current request only:
Anthropic (Claude), USA: the text of your question, useful context and, if you send one, the photo, to produce Kua's answer. Before sending, long numbers (case, account, card) are masked. Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models.
Google Firebase: hosting of our servers and database.
Apple (Maps): searching places, addresses and travel times (a city or a rounded location).
AirLabs: the number of a flight you follow. Travelpayouts: the route and dates of a price search. Open-Meteo: the city, for the morning recap weather.
Expo: delivering notifications to your iPhone. Links to Uber, Apple Maps, Google Maps or the app stores send nothing until you tap them.
The Kuabo team does not read your conversations. When you agree to "leave a message for the team", only a short topic, with nothing personal, reaches it.
5. How long
Conversations, memories, reminders, places: as long as your account exists, and until you delete them.
Location and photos: never kept.
When you delete your Kua account, everything goes to a bin for 90 days (in case of a mistake), then is permanently erased.
The security log is kept for 24 months, then anonymized.
6. Your rights
In the app, Me lets you delete a conversation, a memory, a reminder, a place, or your whole Kua account, at any time.
You can also request access to your data, its correction, its deletion or a copy (portability), and object to processing, by writing to support@kuabo.co. We answer within 30 days. These rights apply in particular under the GDPR (Europe) and the CCPA (California). You can also contact your country's data protection authority.
7. Security
Encrypted connections everywhere, conversations and places encrypted on our servers, limited and logged internal access, limits against abuse. Found a vulnerability? Write to security@kuabo.co.
8. Minimum age
Kua is meant for people aged 13 and over (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from younger children; if we have, write to us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
If this policy changes in an important way, Kua tells you in the app. The date at the top shows the latest version.
